Amplio VST (Effect)

Amplio VST (Effect)

Postby TrojakEW » 08. January 2013, 21:25

AMPLIO VST
Amplio is 3 band equalizer with adjustable bands intended to use for drum loops. Each band has it's own harmonics exciter, saturation and spatialization enhancer for creating pseudo 3D effect, that also work with mono source. Reverb module can by applied to ONE choosen band. 39 presets to choose. Amplio can be also used as effect/enhancer for instruments if configured correctly. Three presets as example for vocals, flute and strings.

14.2.2013:
NEW UPDATED VERSION 1.1 CHANGELOG:

  • additional optimalization (up to 12% CPU usage reduction)
  • added knob readout for reverb module
SPECIAL VERSION for donators includes: (HOW TO GET A SPECIAL VERSION?)
  • new distortion module
  • new presets (with distortion module)

What is the Distortion module for Amplio? Listen carefully to the MP3 file below, divided into four parts. It starts with original loop without any effects. After that there are three new different Amplio settings with distortion module enabled.

Cristobal Ramos Gomez wrote: Quick test and, as Sho Lee mentioned, it seems to mess with other plugins (in my case, TH2). Once fixed, it works like a charm. Only one feature request, a reset button. If you play with a preset it stays changed no matter what, you can't go back to the original preset.

If you can describe problem you have in cubase and how to solve this problem it can be usefull for other users that want to try plugin in cubase.

Presets work same way as in other plugins. Changes will remain until you reload the plugin. However Amplio has built-in preset manager, so before you do any changes you can save current preset or whole preset bank to txt file and then reload if you wish undo the changes.

Thanks for the quick answer. Well, I'm using Reaper, not Cubase, and I had to re-authorize my TH2 right after loading amplio in a different track. Probably unrelated, or maybe the plugin messes with the way the DAW communicates with the plugins, I don't know. Anyway, now it's working fine so no problem. About the presets, what i usually find is that any change made to a certain preset it's simply gone when you browse back to that preset, so you don't have to worry about screwing it because the preset it's still there untouched. If I like the changes I've made, the I save it as a different present, but if I don't no worries, the changes are simply gone. But Amplio keeps those changes in the presets. Not much of a problem because, as you said, I can always reload the VST and the original presets are there, but that reset feature might be welcomed as well. In any case, I really like the plugin and what it does not only to drums but other instruments

Ok then. I will look for simple way how to implement this after I finish otpimization the whole thing (I expect about 10% reduction) and new distortion module.

After hearing the examples of what Amplio can do, I was eager to try it. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with my set-up. My operating system is Ubuntu Linux 12.04, and my DAW is Reaper 4.32, running under WINE 1.4.1. When Reaper scans for VSTs, it crashes when it reaches Amplio.

Well the plugin is made with flowstone which is designed for windows. Don't know how or if it works under linux and wine. We will try to look at this problem.

Thanks! Although it wasn't intended for my set-up, I'd be happy if it could run there.

Flowstone use ruby programming language. It have embedded msvcr90-ruby191.dll so when DAW scan for plugins and find amplio(or any other made with flowstone plugin) it will try to copy this dll in system folder on windows. Maybe this is the problem. Where, how in linux I don't know yet. It will be looking for a path and a specific folder to copy its ruby dll into and this may cause crash.
